Filter For Above or Below Average Numbers

In Microsoft Excel 2007, we can filter the numbers for an average value. We can select two numbers and for an average value above and below it.

Filtering above and below average values:
  • Select a range of cells containing numeric data.
  • On the Data tab, in the Sort & Filter group, click Filter.
  • Click the arrow  in the column header.
  • Point to Number Filters and then do one or more of the following:
  • To filter by numbers that are above the average, click Above Average.
  • To filter by numbers that are below the average, click Below Average.
  • To reapply a filter after you change the data, click a cell in the range or table and then, on the Data tab, in the Sort & Filter group, click Reapply.
