Stop Specific Workbook At Start up

As we discussed before we can start a specific workbook at the start up of Microsoft Excel. But when we feel that the necessity of that workbook is completed we may stop it from being loaded at the start up.

To stop a specific workbook from loading at Start up:

1) Remove the workbook from the Excel Start up folder.

In XP, it is C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart.

In Vista and windows7, it is C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart.

If the workbook is stored in alternate startup folder we can do the following :

1) Click the Microsoft Office Button , click Excel Options, and then click the Advanced category. Under General, clear the contents of the At startup, open all files in box, and then click OK.

In Windows Explorer, remove any icon that starts Excel and automatically opens the workbook from the alternate startup folder.

Delete the file that is there in XLSTART folder.
