Insert Page Numbers in Microsoft Word

When we are working on Microsoft word we need to may need to have the page numbers on them for our reference. We have the option to insert the page numbers for the documents in Word 2010 with different pre-defined templates.

Steps to insert page numbers:

1) Click on Insert Menu and Navigate to Header and Footer Ribbon.
2) Click on Page numbers to get the following different options.

  • Top of the page : Top of the page will insert the page number at the top of the page, in header.
  • Bottom of the page: Bottom of the page will insert the page number in footer
  • Page Margins: It will insert the page numbers in margins along the page borders.
  • Current Position: It will insert the page number in the current position of the cursor.

Just selecting a template will insert the page number in the current page.
