Protect Documents using Word 2003

In Microsoft Word 2003 we have an option to choose who can edit the document that is created by us and what are the features that they can change. This is very helpful in keeping the formatting of the documents by others. We can restrict them from formatting the document.

Steps to Enforce Restrictions on the Document:

1) Click on Tools and Protect Document.

2) We will get the option to the right.

3) First Section gives us an option to choose the type of formatting in the document that can be edited by others.

4) Second Section Editing restrictions gives us an option to choose the type of editing others can do on the document we create.

The third section gives us to say yes or no for the changes or restriction we have applied on the document

This is available in 2007 and 2010 versions as well.
